This local curry features rice and vegetables cultivated in the bountiful Shōnai Plain, which is rich with spring water from Mt. Chokai.
It was created by the homemakers, chefs, and manufacturers of Yuza Town who live within the rich nature of Mt. Chokai and know its local ingredients well. They developed it to help people enjoy delicious local ingredients more.
The rice is shaped to look like Mt. Chokai as seen from the south (Yamagata side) and topped with this mild, additive-free curry that brings out the sweetness of the vegetables. Colorful vegetables grown in Yuza Town are added on top, making this dish enjoyable both to see and to eat.
