Mt. Chokai & Tobishima Island Geopark is made up of three cities and one town located at the base of Mt. Chokai: Yurihonjō City and Nikaho City in Akita Prefecture, and Yuza Town and Sakata City in Yamagata Prefecture. The geopark also includes Tobishima Island, which is part of Sakata City and lies off the coast in the Sea of Japan.
