Giant Tree Forest

Tobishima Island has a relatively warm climate, thanks to the influence of the Tsushima Warm Current. Here you can see giant trees, such as the Japanese bay tree (Machilus thunbergii) and Japanese red pine (Pinus densiflora), with a trunk circumference as large as 4 m or more. This “giant tree forest” has a walking trail and Hanatozaki Lookout Point where, on a clear day, you can enjoy the illusion of Mt. Chōkai floating on the sea.
