Kamiko-no-mizu is a set of spring water basins in Yuza Town’s Mega area. The spring’s origin is located in the mountains to the east of the settlement; it is said to have gotten its name from how the water was drawn from a mountain deity (kami).
The water basins are divided into six sections, each with a different use. The local community has protected this tradition for generations, using the water carefully so as not to contaminate the water. This is a symbolic place for the local area, and has long been a popular place for neighbors to chat while washing their clothes and vegetables.
